Yellow Cyril Chilli Seeds – 10 Fresh Seeds
Yellow Cyril is an unusual interspecific chilli hybrid created from Lemon Drop (Capsicum baccatum) × Dorset Naga (Capsicum chinense), combining the bright fruity flavour of a baccatum with the serious heat and heavier pod character of a Naga.
The ripe fruits are a striking bright yellow, with smooth, plump pods that taper gently towards the tip. The flavour is one of the main attractions: it starts sweet, fruity and citrusy, strongly reminiscent of Lemon Drop, before the heat arrives quickly and with much more force than you would expect from the initial flavour.
The heat and texture lean more towards the Dorset Naga side of the cross, making this a particularly interesting variety for growers who enjoy very hot chillies but still want plenty of flavour rather than heat alone.
Growth habit tends to favour the Capsicum baccatum parent, producing a taller, more open and somewhat spindly plant with a broad canopy. Stems can become thick and fairly rigid, which means they may be more prone to snapping under the weight of growth or fruit. Extra staking or support is recommended, especially later in the season.
This is a great variety for chilli enthusiasts looking for something genuinely different — a cross that brings together two very distinctive species and manages to carry traits from both.
