Embassy Naga Chilli Seeds – 10 Fresh Seeds
The Story: Around 2010, a grower named Isong was exchanging seeds with a friend who’d asked him to look out for rare Indian chillies. After a year, he shared a photo from a local plant group showing a striking pepper said to be growing at an Embassy in Myanmar, tended for over 40 years by an elderly cleaner.
Months later, Isong sent a small, damp half-pod containing about ten seeds. They were shared between Matt, Chong, and a friend. Only Matt’s plant survived the first season, and while he shared pods at a chilli festival, later generations didn’t all grow true.
To preserve the line without confusing it with the open-pollinated “Embassy” strain, it was given a slightly altered name. No profit or fame was ever the goal — only to protect and continue a beautiful, temperamental chilli with deep roots in Myanmar’s history.
