The Umorok Red pepper, originating from Manipur, India, belongs to the ghost pepper family and boasts an intense, fiery flavor profile. Dubbed “King Chili” by locals due to its extreme heat, this variety of pepper is not for the faint-hearted.
Standing at over 4 feet tall, the Umorok pepper plant is known for its prolific yield, but be forewarned: it produces an abundance of peppers! The pods of this pepper display a wrinkled, intimidating appearance, often characterized by curved, hook-like tails. Beginning as light green, then transitioning through yellow hues, the Umorok chili ultimately matures into a vibrant red colour.
