Originally selected by Merlyn and Mary Ann Niedens of Illinois, Short Stuff has become a favourite for gardeners with limited space, containers, or smaller plots. The plants are highly uniform and well-branched, giving them a tidy, bushy look that’s perfect for borders, children’s gardens, or patio pots.
Quick to mature, blooms appear in just 50–60 days, providing cheerful colour earlier in the season. Once the flowering has finished, the seed-filled heads make an excellent treat for garden birds.
