MA Warthog Chilli Seeds – 10 Fresh Seeds

MA Warthog is a rare and ferocious Capsicum chinense superhot created by American chilli breeder Matthew Arthur, from a cross between MA Wartryx × 7 Pot Primo.

With genetics like those, you’d expect something fairly vicious – and Warthog certainly delivers.

The plants produce spectacular, heavily wrinkled and contorted pods with the rough, aggressive appearance that gave the variety its name. Pod shape can vary considerably, with some developing elongated forms, folds, twists and wicked-looking points.

The heat is firmly in extreme superhot territory. Figures of around 1.4–1.5 million SHU are often associated with the variety, although we prefer to treat these as estimates rather than guaranteed heat levels unless individual pods have been laboratory tested.

Behind the brutal heat is a surprisingly interesting flavour, with fruity and floral notes before the intense, lingering burn takes over.

🧬 An Unstable & Fascinating Variety

MA Warthog is not considered fully stable, and this is part of the fun of growing it.

Variation in pod shape, size and other characteristics can occur between plants and generations. Several colour selections have also emerged from Warthog, including yellow, orange, peach, white and chocolate types.

For growers who enjoy unusual genetics and seeing what each plant produces, this makes Warthog particularly interesting.
