Primabella Tomato – 10 Fresh Seeds
If you’ve ever lost your outdoor tomato crop to late blight, Primabella could be the variety you’ve been looking for!
Developed through a German organic tomato breeding programme, Primabella has been specifically selected for its exceptional resistance to late blight (Phytophthora infestans), the destructive disease responsible for devastating tomato crops during cool, wet British summers.
Widely regarded as one of the most blight-resistant open-pollinated tomato varieties available, Primabella provides gardeners with a much better chance of enjoying healthy plants and delicious homegrown tomatoes throughout the growing season.
Unlike many conventional outdoor tomatoes, which can rapidly succumb to blight during prolonged periods of wet weather, Primabella has been bred to withstand disease pressure while continuing to produce attractive, flavoursome fruits.
Delicious Cherry Tomatoes with Outstanding Flavour
Primabella produces abundant, attractive trusses of round, bright red tomatoes, typically weighing around 25–30g each.
The fruits offer a wonderfully balanced flavour, combining natural sweetness with a refreshing hint of acidity and a rich, traditional tomato aroma.
Their firm, juicy texture makes them perfect for fresh eating, salads, lunchboxes and snacking straight from the vine.
Specially Suited to Outdoor Growing
One of Primabella’s greatest advantages is its suitability for outdoor cultivation.
While it also performs well in greenhouses and polytunnels, its exceptional late blight resistance makes it particularly valuable for gardeners growing tomatoes outdoors without protection.
This is especially beneficial in wetter parts of the UK, where late blight can be a serious problem.
Primabella is a vigorous, indeterminate (cordon) variety, typically reaching 150–200cm when supported. Regular sideshooting and training will help maintain productive, healthy plants.
