Cauliflower Growing Guide
Cauliflowers prefer fertile, moisture-retentive soil and a sunny position. Maintaining steady growth is particularly important, as prolonged drought or other stresses can affect the development of the heads.
🌱 Sowing
- Sow seeds approximately 1–2 cm deep in seed trays, modules or a prepared seed bed.
- For early crops, sow under protection before gradually hardening young plants off.
- Later varieties can be sown during spring and early summer for later-season harvesting.
- As this collection contains varieties with different maturity periods, refer to the individual sachet labels and stagger sowings where appropriate.
🌿 Transplanting & Growing
- Transplant when seedlings are well established and have developed several true leaves.
- Plant into firm, fertile soil in a sunny position.
- Allow approximately 45–60 cm between plants, depending on the variety and desired head size.
