Jalapeño Deadpool is one of the most visually striking Jalapeño-type peppers we have grown.

Originally associated with Joker Chili, this unusual Capsicum annuum combines dramatic dark foliage with beautiful Jalapeño-shaped fruits that undergo an impressive colour transformation as they mature.

The young fruits begin an extremely deep purple-black, often appearing almost completely black. As they ripen, the pods gradually develop warm bronze and red tones before finishing a vivid bright red.

The plant itself is equally impressive. Expect dark purple foliage, black stems and purple veining through the leaves, giving Deadpool a highly ornamental appearance even before the fruits begin to mature.

Our plants have proved extremely vigorous, reaching around 5 ft tall under good growing conditions and producing large, substantial Jalapeño-shaped pods.

The colour progression is one of the standout features:

Black / Purple → Bronze / Red → Bright Red

In terms of heat, Jalapeño Deadpool is generally a little hotter than a standard Jalapeño, while retaining the familiar thick-fleshed Jalapeño character.
