Habanero Big Sun is an impressive heirloom habanero variety prized for its large, sunshine-yellow fruits, excellent productivity and intensely fruity flavour.
The plants develop into vigorous, bushy specimens, typically reaching around 80–100 cm tall under good growing conditions. They produce plentiful pendant fruits which begin pale green before ripening through to a beautiful rich golden yellow.
Big Sun earns its name from the size and colour of its pods. Fruits can reach around 5–6 cm long, noticeably larger and fleshier than many traditional habanero types.
Don't let the cheerful colour fool you, though. At approximately 150,000–350,000 Scoville Heat Units, Big Sun delivers genuine habanero heat. 🔥
