Chilli Costeño Amarillo Chilli Seeds – 10 Fresh Seeds
Costeño Amarillo is a traditional Mexican chilli originating from the Oaxaca and Guerrero regions, prized for its beautiful golden-orange pods and distinctive citrus flavour.
The productive plants develop slender, thin-walled chillies that ripen from green through golden yellow before reaching a deep orange when fully mature. The fruits have a wonderfully fruity, lemon-like flavour with a pleasant chilli heat, making this an excellent variety for growers who enjoy peppers with plenty of character rather than heat alone.
Costeño Amarillo is particularly well suited to drying, with the thin-walled pods making excellent chilli powder and seasoning. It is traditionally used in Mexican cuisine for salsas, hot sauces, soups, stews and yellow moles, where the golden pods add both flavour and colour.
Plants are relatively compact and productive, typically reaching around 60–90cm tall, making them suitable for containers, greenhouses or a warm sheltered position outdoors.
