Cayenne Chocolate, also known as Chocolate Cayenne or Brown Cayenne, is an unusual variation of the familiar Cayenne pepper. The productive plants develop long, slender fruits that mature to an attractive chocolate-brown colour rather than the bright red normally associated with Cayenne chillies.

The peppers retain the characteristic sharp, clean heat and versatile flavour of a Cayenne and can be used fresh or cooked. Their relatively thin walls make them particularly suitable for drying, after which the pods can be crushed into flakes or ground into a richly coloured chilli powder.
