The Aji Pineapple chili pepper is a type of Baccatum pepper and is a unique and vibrant variety that comes from South America. Its name is derived from its distinct fruity flavor that is reminiscent of pineapples. This chili pepper is characterized by its yellow hue and elongated shape, typically measuring around 2 to 3 inches in length.
Despite its tropical flavor profile, the Aji Pineapple packs a moderate heat, ranking between 20,000 to 30,000 Scoville Heat Units. This makes it milder than habaneros but spicier than jalapeños. It is often used in salsas, sauces, and marinades to impart a sweet-spicy kick and is also excellent when dried and ground into a powder.
