🫘 Anasazi 1600 Year Cave Bean Seeds – 30 Fresh Seeds
Anasazi 1600 Year Cave Bean is an extraordinary heritage bean with a fascinating connection to the American Southwest and some of the most attractive dried beans you can grow.
The mature beans have a distinctive cream background heavily splashed and mottled with deep burgundy-red, making every seed slightly different.
The vigorous plants develop as climbers, producing attractive flowers followed by pods containing the beautifully patterned beans. Give them canes, netting or a wigwam and they will happily climb upwards through the summer.
Although commonly sold under the evocative name “1600 Year Cave Bean”, stories surrounding its ancient origins vary. What isn’t in doubt is that it is a fascinating Southwestern heritage bean with an unusual appearance and excellent culinary qualities.
Once dried, the beans have a rich, creamy texture and excellent flavour. They’re superb in soups, stews, chilli, bean salads and slow-cooked dishes, and also look fantastic stored in a glass jar after harvest.
