Oaxacan Jewel Tomato Seeds – 10 Fresh Seeds

Oaxacan Jewel is a beautiful heirloom-style tomato producing colourful fruits with rich golden-yellow and red tones. The attractive bicoloured flesh and excellent flavour make each sliced fruit particularly impressive.

The tomatoes have a sweet, rich flavour that is ideal for fresh eating, salads and colourful platters. Plants benefit from staking or other support and regular harvesting throughout the season. An excellent choice for growers who value both flavour and unusual fruit colour.

Species: Solanum lycopersicum
Type: Bicolour Tomato
Fruit Colour: Yellow / Gold with red tones
Best For: Slicing, salads and fresh eating

🌱 Growing Guide – Oaxacan Jewel Tomato

Sowing: February–April
Germination: 7–14 days
Germination Temperature: 18–25°C
Sowing Depth: Approx. 5 mm
Position: Full sun
Planting Out: May–June, after all risk of frost
Spacing: Approx. 45–60 cm
Harvest: July–October

Sow seeds indoors into trays, modules or small pots filled with good-quality seed compost. Cover lightly with compost and keep warm and evenly moist until germination.

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant individually into small pots and grow on somewhere bright and warm. Pot on as required to encourage strong root development.

After the risk of frost has passed, plant into a greenhouse, polytunnel, large container or a warm, sheltered outdoor position in full sun.

Oaxacan Jewel is a vigorous tomato variety and will benefit from sturdy support such as canes, strings or a tomato cage as the plants develop.

Water regularly and consistently, especially once flowering and fruiting begins. Feed with a suitable tomato fertiliser once the first fruits have set.

Harvest the fruits once they have developed their characteristic golden-yellow, orange and red colouring and have softened slightly.
